I took this photograph a few years ago at the end of a cycle touring trip from Istanbul to London. I was waiting for a ferry to take me across the river, so took some time out to have a stroll around the riverside and take some photographs. It was the middle of a bright sunny spring day,and when I saw the barbed wire on top of a low wall I peered through it and immediately saw this composition.
